Following the Government announcement on Friday regarding the phased reopening of the country there is hope for Irish weddings from July onwards!
In Phase 4 of the current “reopening report” from July 20th intimate ceremonies may take place with family & close friends. The direct line from the report is:
” Small social gatherings by family and close friends limited to a maximum number of attendees for a limited period of time where social distancing can be maintained (e.g. small weddings, baptisms) “
Our understanding of this is that small ceremonies in your Church or registry office may take place with a small number of people present. Although it’s not yet known what a “small number” is just yet it does give hope for micro-weddings for July!
For many couples it simply won’t be feasible to postpone their Irish wedding for 12 months due to family planning or personal circumstances. But don’t worry – The Dish Dolly has the solution! Why not host an intimate micro-wedding at home?!
