Hire Vintage China
The Dish Dolly offers a solution for Irish Party Supplies and small quantities of crockery, tableware, glassware and cutlery for home and small events. We also hire vintage China!
The barbeque has been shoved to the back of the shed, the picnic blankets are thrown over the garden furniture and the gazebo is starting to turn green with moss….. yes folks, Autumn is without doubt here. All the garden parties, the evening drinks on the patio and the charred barbequed sausages are distant memories. Our tiny island was blessed with a better than normal Summer this year and we cannot wait to see what Summer 2019 has in the works. But for now, embrace the forthcoming chilly evenings and plan nights in with friends, weekend dinner parties and bring back the Sunday roast. Here’s some ways you can embrace the Hygge way of life, cos lets face it, it’ll be Autumn/Winter for a while….
- The ideal way to regroup with a gang of girlfriends is to throw a tea party (booze filled or otherwise!) After the hectic-ness of summer camps and being a personal taxi service to the little people in your life, its time to regain some “Me Time”. Whip up some scones (or, you know, buy them…), brew some tea and hire vintage china cups for a gathering of weary Mums to summon some energy for the re-start of the school year.
- Have a couples dinner now that the evenings call for a glass of red wine and, dare I say it, lighting fires! It is such a lovely thing for someone to ask you to their home for dinner and an art form I think may be lost somewhat in the flurry of take-aways, nights to the pub and Netflix. There is nothing nicer to have your best friends over to appreciate some home cooking and to chill out without the confines of a restaurant or noise of a pub.
- Host a big, old-fashioned, family Sunday dinner. Call Aunty Mary and get her to make her world famous trifle. Get Sister Liz to make her “oh-so-bad-for-you-for-bloody-delicious” goose fat roasted spuds. Shove the rib roast in the oven and make the kids do the washing up while the grown ups have a sherry or two. If you have a massive clan get the Dish Dolly to drop of plates, cutlery and glasses for the day and avoid the washing up altogether!
Whatever you plan on doing to get through the next few weeks of rain and leaves EVERYWHERE, be mindful of your well being – look after yourself and take the time to enjoy the little things in life.
Happy planning folks,
